FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The things people ask before they buy.

Running the app

Does it work without the internet?

Yes. Everything lives in a local database on the till, so selling, refunding, printing and closing shifts all work with the network unplugged. The only feature that needs a connection is ZATCA Phase 2 submission, and failures there are queued and retried rather than lost.

Where is my data stored?

In a SQLite database file inside your Windows user profile, under AppData. Nothing is sent to us. You can copy that file anywhere as a backup.

How do backups work?

Settings has a backup button that writes a copy of the database to a folder you choose, plus a health check and an optimise tool. Restoring is a matter of putting the file back. Copy the backup to a USB drive or a cloud folder so it is not on the same machine as the original.

Can several tills share one catalogue?

Not yet. Each installation has its own database. You can export the catalogue from one till and import it into another, but there is no live multi-till sync.

Does it run on Mac or Linux?

The app is built on Electron so it could, but only a Windows installer is built, tested and supported today.

Licensing

How long is the trial and what is in it?

14 days, starting the first time you open the app, with every core feature unlocked. No card, no sign-up.

Is the licence per till or per company?

Per till. Each licence is bound to one machine's Device ID.

The PC died. Do I lose the licence?

No. Send us the new machine's Device ID and we will reissue the key.

What if my subscription runs out mid-shift?

Nothing is deleted. If it is an add-on you lose that module only. If it is the core licence the app opens on the Licence screen, and everything comes straight back when you renew.

ZATCA

Do I need the Phase 2 module?

Only if ZATCA has told you that you are in scope for the integration phase. Phase 1 QR codes are in the core licence and satisfy the generation requirement on their own.

How long does Phase 2 onboarding take?

Usually under half an hour per till, most of which is copying details from the ZATCA portal. The wizard remembers where you got to if you have to stop.

Standard or simplified invoice, and who decides?

The app does. If the customer on the ticket has a VAT number it becomes a standard tax invoice; otherwise it is simplified. Adding the VAT number to the customer record is all you have to do.

What if ZATCA is down when I try to sell?

Simplified invoices are signed and queued, so the queue at your counter keeps moving. Standard tax invoices have to be cleared before they can be issued, so those wait, which is a rule of the scheme rather than a limit of the app.

Hardware and setup

Which barcode scanners work?

Any USB scanner that behaves as a keyboard, which is nearly all of them. Plug it in and scan into the checkout search box. No driver or configuration needed.

Which receipt printers work?

Anything Windows has a driver for. Pick 58 mm, 80 mm or A4 in Settings, then use the test print to check it before opening.

Will it open my cash drawer?

Not yet. The Cash drawer button at the checkout is currently a prompt rather than an electrical pulse to a printer-connected drawer. It is on the roadmap.

Can I sell items by weight?

Yes, through barcodes printed by your shop scale. Set the prefix and digit layout in Settings and the till reads the product and the weight or price off the label. Reading a live weight from a connected scale is not supported.

Is the interface available in Arabic?

Yes, fully, including right-to-left layout and an Arabic font. Each user picks their language at sign-in and it can be changed at any time in Settings.

Still stuck?

Send us the details and we will get back to you.
